Summary

Timity is a local, anonymous, easy-to-use app for spontaneous meetups. It works without accounts, without registration and without permanently storing your data on a server. We keep no user database. We use no analytics, no ad networks, no third-party cookies, and we never sell or share your data.

What the app processes

• Profile (local only): nickname or name, age range, communication languages and an optional photo are stored only on your device and can be deleted anytime in Settings.
• Nearby sharing (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi): while sharing is on, the app broadcasts an anonymous profile directly to nearby devices running Timity. Nothing passes through a server.
• Location: used only to show you and people nearby on the map on your device. Your precise location never leaves the device.

Optional "Extended Range"

Without this feature, nothing leaves your device. When you enable it in Settings, the app starts sending to our server what you would otherwise broadcast only to your immediate surroundings, so that people beyond Bluetooth range can see you too. Specifically:

• a temporary session identifier — created when you start sharing and destroyed when you stop; next time it is a different one and cannot be linked to the previous one;
• a coarse location cell (~150 m), not your precise location;
• the same sharing profile you broadcast to your surroundings — nickname, age range, activity, how to recognise you, and an optional photo if you have set one.

The data is not stored permanently on the server: it sits there only as long as needed to pass it on and expires by itself within ~90 seconds. It is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), is not tied to any account, and you can turn the feature off at any time.

What we cannot guarantee, plainly. The record is intended for devices running Timity around you, and we take measures against bulk harvesting (a limit on how large an area can be read at once). We cannot, however, technically rule out that someone running a modified version of the app reads it. So share via Extended Range only what you are willing to show to a stranger. With the feature off, you share only over a short distance directly between phones and this consideration does not apply.

What we don't do

• No user accounts, no persistent identifiers.
• No analytics, no advertising ID, no tracking.
• No selling or sharing data with third parties.

This website and cookies

This website uses no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising or tracking scripts, and nothing is loaded from other servers (fonts, maps, players, social buttons). All content, including the videos, is served by us.

The only thing the site may store in your browser is your language choice — and only when you switch the language yourself, so it stays set next time. It is not an identifier, it cannot recognise or track you, and clearing the site data in your browser removes it. That is why you will find no consent banner here: there is nothing to consent to.

Data deletion

All data lives on your device — delete it in the app's Settings ("Delete profile") or by uninstalling the app. There is nothing to delete on the server (Extended Range data expires by itself within tens of seconds).
